Hi all.
I am wondering if you ever tried to edit things in wikipedia or even better write a new article in it. If you did i am wondering how did you find it?
I was thinking of writing a small article about blind birders, my discussion group about birds, but the tutorial in it changed my mind in it. I didn't like the fact that we have to learn some code to enter for headings, links and formating.
I have to say that their code sounds easier than html but i am very lasy to learn codes to enter in my text. I would prefer if i just could type in an edit area and save lol.
Anyone fancy adding the article for me with all the format, links etc that they are necessary? I would give you the text that i need and you could do the formating etc. And i could give you some points as a thanks.
Anyway you don't have to do that if you don't want to. The primary reason for this topick is to hear oppinions for the wikipedia accessibility when we need to write something. I know it is great for reading things etc.

I am not a contributer, but can learn it quickly, I was looking at it, and it seemed pretty easy. I'll do it for you, but please don't sent me any points. I am sighted so accessibility won't be a problem, and I often bird with my Uncle who is an ornithologist.

I've not contributed, though I have been known to make corrections (usually spelling.)

Ok everyone send Ryan Smith your contributions to wikipedia. <just kidding).

Ages ago I did an article for them on accessibility, but it's no longer there. I do remember it was fairly easy to compose, but I haven't updated anything in a long long time.

Maybe I'll have to take another look at it.

Thanks Nikos.

Bob

Thanks all for your replies and thanks Rian. When i have my document ready i can post it to you and hopefully blind birders will be featured in wikipedia.
Maybe somebody can write an article about the zone BBS as well. I am wondering if there are articles in wikipedia about audio games. I found articles about screen readers but i don't remember ever finding articles on audio games etc.

wow, no wonder teachers in college tell students not to use that site as a reference for a research paper. Anyone could post anything.
